Under the order, all vehicles used for loading and transporting goods like tractor trailers, earth moving machines, excavation machinery, dumpers have been banned to move within the radius of 200 meters from the rivers.

Ban has also been imposed on stocking and screening the foodgrains within the radius of one kilometer. These measures have been taken in view of the ban on mining from the rivers through an order by the Punjab and Haryana high court.

However, despite the ban, illegal mining is continuing. The order says that legal action would be taken against the persons violating the orders under section 188 IPC.

The ACPs, SHOS, BDPOs, tehsildars and sarpanches have been directed to implement the orders to control the illegal mining in the district.
