The Punjab government plans to take the delivery of 59 citizen services online soon. Once launched, a citizen could apply and keep track at www.punjab.gov.in. The delivery of more than 20 such services is already on the virtual platform.
Punjab chief secretary Sarvesh Kaushal chaired a meeting of Punjab State Service Delivery Gateway (SSDG) in this regard on Monday where connectivity and software issues were discussed.
He has issued instructions to the administrative secretaries of the departments concerned to resolve all pending issues over the next three days.
At the review meeting, officials from the department of governance reforms made a detailed presentation on the current status of the launch of online delivery of 59 citizen services.
The chief secretary was told that 20 services including SC/OBC caste certificate, pensions related to old age, disabled persons, widow, destitute women, birth/death certificate related services, disability certificate were already operational.
For services related to the department of welfare, it was decided that all services including the Shagun scheme, term loans and post-matric scholarship should be made available on the Punjab State portal for citizens to apply online.
For services related to the department of home like the registration of marriage under the Punjab Compulsory Registration of Marriage act, Registration of marriage under Special Marriage act, the department has been asked to release government orders over the next seven days so that services can be launched by August 25.
Issues related to remaining services including delivery of hardware, connectivity, training, user acceptance testing, and software development were discussed. The departments were asked to provide the business requirement for development and testing of the software application.
