Dhankar's efforts fail to impress union minister

The BJP parliamentarian from Bihar's Purvi Champaran constituency, Radha Mohan Singh was chief guest at the two-day brain-storming session of the Kisan Morcha at Bahadurgarh town in Jhajjar district.

Dhankar, who also contested the Lok Sabha poll from Rohtak had claimed that if the Narendra Modi government comes to power at the Centre, pro-farmer decisions like the implementation of the MS Swaminathan Commission report and better MSP for crops would be taken up in the initial days after the government formation.

The BJP Kisan Morcha chief had also promised that thousands of acres of land acquired by the state government in the name of setting up Special Economic Zones (SEZs) would also be returned to them with the intervention of the Centre.

When mediapersons tried to seek the agriculture minister's comment on these key issues after the inauguration programme, Dhankar, cutting a sorry figure, stopped them saying that the union minister did not want to air his views on these issues.
