Though the BJP has won the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat with a margin of about one lakh votes defeating the Congress party in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the party leadership especially former chief minister, PK Dhumal, is still dissatisfied with the lead that party took in the district.
This became evident during a meeting of the party workers of the Hamirpur assembly constituency on Saturday in which Dhumal reportedly told them to introspect for the small lead the party got from the Hamirpur assembly seat. The meeting was called to celebrate the party victory in the elections and to thank the workers and leaders for their efforts that helped the party to win the Hamirpur seat.
Insiders told Hindustan Times that while thanking the leaders and workers of the constituency, Dhumal said that they should go to the masses and thank them for supporting the party during the elections. He said that departure of Congress government in state is on the cards, so workers should get ready for next battle also. He also urged them to get prepared for coming panchayat elections which are due next year.
However, he also told them to introspect why the lead from the Hamirpur seat was not up to mark. He said that it was the duty of all to see how we failed to get commanding lead from the constituency where the leadership of Congress party was almost dead. The former chief minister said that now time has come not to sit silent but to continue the efforts to expose the Congress party government in the state that was already a dead horse due to its shocking defeat in the Lok sabha elections.

{{/usCountry}}While talking to reporters after the meeting, he said that the days of state government were numbered and if VB Singh didn't resign, the party would demand mid-term polls in the state. He said that Congress had lost the faith of the people and we should work together to oust it (Congress) from power so that a neat and clean government of the BJP was formed in the state.
He said that the state would get more funds and projects under the active leadership of Narendra Modi at Centre and would become a model state of India in years to come.
