Did railways favour 'middleman' Garg?

Panchkula resident Ajay Garg (45), a close aide of railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal's nephew Vijay Singla and an alleged middleman in the cash-for-post scandal in the railways who was arrested after he surrendered in a Delhi court on Tuesday, had reportedly bagged a huge contract from the railways for installing generators.

Panchkula resident Ajay Garg (45), a close aide of railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal's nephew Vijay Singla and an alleged middleman in the cash-for-post scandal in the railways who was arrested after he surrendered in a Delhi court on Tuesday, had reportedly bagged a huge contract from the railways for installing generators.

Sources in the Congress said Garg, who runs factories manufacturing diesel engines used in gensets in Panchkula and Kathua, also had vital information about the deals struck by Singla in Rail Bhawan.

Garg has an office in Sector 26, Chandigarh and another one in Industrial Area, Phase I, Panchkula. He also runs a factory of industrial equipment in Panchkula and owns a huge property in Dera Bassi.

Garg used to function from an SCO in Sector 26, Chandigarh about a year ago, but he shifted his office to Industrial Area, Panchkula later. He has put up a letter box outside the SCO, from where the mail is collected every weekend.

After shifting his office from Sector 26, he had pasted the new address on the wall as "Theon Pharmaceuticals Ltd/ IVA Healthcare Pvt Ltd and ISIS Packaging Pvt Ltd, plot number 400, Industrial Area, Phase I, Panchkula.
