Anand was arrested by the police after he was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.

Police had moved an application seeking three-day custodial interrogation to determine the motive of the murder. The police claimed that Anand had hidden a few cartridges to cover up his crime so his custodial interrogation was required to recover them.

Anand had been placed under suspension and a regular departmental inquiry had been ordered against him.

Anand was admitted to hospital since July 25. He underwent a minor surgical procedure on Monday to remove a part of the bullet from his shoulder.
