Discom's highest power distribution in state

The power transmission and distribution system in Haryana took ever high of 8,898MW peaking load on Wednesday, which is 3,139 MW more than the peaking load taken by the system on the corresponding day last year. The previous record peaking power supply was 8,752 MW on July 16.

A spokesman of the power utilities said here on Thursday that due to scorching heat and almost no rains in the state, the demand of electricity has touched the new heigh. The Haryana discoms (Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) supplied 1,907.44 lakh units of power on Wednesday against 1,277 lakh units supplied on the corresponding day of last year.
