Talking to HT, CBI counsel DS Chawla said, "He has been granted anticipatory bail till his application of regular bail is decided. He filed the regular bail application on Wednesday."

The CBI has pointed out that during his posting from 1997 to 2011 at the Military Hospital, Ambala, he had accumulated assets worth Rs 95.32 lakh disproportionate to his income.

The CBI had caught Yadav red-handed in October 2011 after he allegedly took a bribe of Rs 10,000 for declaring a candidate medically fit for recruitment in the Army. Yadav was ENT specialist at the hospital who had declared Paramjit Singh, resident of Sangrur, medically unfit in the test conducted at Military Hospital in the forenoon of October 8, 2011.

In the afternoon, the candidate met the doctor at his residence where he demanded Rs 10, 000. After receipt of the bribe, the doctor declared the candidate fit. He was then arrested with the bribe amount.
