Her wedding was the most talked-about event of the year and today, her first Karva Chauth after marriage has Bollywood abuzz. Actor Kareena Kapoor, 32, will, in all likelihood, be observing a fast for husband Saif Ali Khan’s well-being, as goes the festival’s custom.
The couple is expected to spend the day together at their Mumbai house. They want to keep it a private affair. “Kareena and Saif will be spending the day together as both of them have no work commitments today,” says a source close to the couple.
If Kapoor observes the fast, this would be her third time since she first observed it in 2010 for Khan. Back then, she decided to fast despite a rigorous promotional schedule for Golmaal 3 in Delhi. She had a long day with media interactions but went without food and water the entire day. Later in the day she met Saif Ali Khan at Pataudi, where she broke the fast.
Another newlywed actor, Esha Deol, will also be fasting. “Esha will be observing the fast as this is her first Karva Chauth,” says Deol’s mother, actor Hema Malini.
While actor Genelia D’Souza who also got married this year chose to keep her plans under wraps, other married actors such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty will observe the fast like every year.
