The group members said Yadav had in a statement said that the party would fight for additional quota for the lower castes, women and the economically backward citizens.

Dr Neeraj Nagpal, convener of MLAG, said this move of AAP seemed more in line of crass populism already followed by all mainstream political parties.

He, however, said the AAP coming into the national mainstream had given all professionals including doctors a lot of hope for a better India but this hope, he said, had now turned into a disappointment.

Dr Nagpal appealed to Kejriwal that it was caste politics which had brought India to where it is today and 'AAP too seems to have succumbed to charms of power', he said.
