He said after the closure of campaign period on November 2 at 5 pm, no campaign can take place within a constituency.

Political functionaries, party workers, campaign functionaries who have been brought from outside the constituency and those who are not voters of the constituency, should not continue to remain present in the constituency, he added.

The chief electoral officer added that restrictions on presence of political functionaries in constituency after the campaign period is over may not be insisted upon the office-bearer of political party who is in-charge of the state.

He added that such office-bearer of the political party shall declare his place of stay in the state headquarters and his movement during the period in question shall be confined normally between his party office and place of his stay. All political parties, contesting candidates and their agents have been requested by the chief electoral officer to take note of this and ensure compliance.

These instructions will, however, not be applicable to the candidates, he added.
