Engineer held for stabbing friends

The police have arrested an engineer who allegedly stabbed two of his friends over a controversy on the payment of the liquor bill at a tavern in Sector 28 on Saturday night. The injured were identified as Rajiv Thakur, who works at Elante Mall, Chandigarh, and Naresh Kumar, who works at a Sector 31 mobile shop.

The police have arrested an engineer who allegedly stabbed two of his friends over a controversy on the payment of the liquor bill at a tavern in Sector 28 on Saturday night.

The injured were identified as Rajiv Thakur, who works at Elante Mall, Chandigarh, and Naresh Kumar, who works at a Sector 31 mobile shop.

The two injured have been admitted to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16.

The accused was identified as Jatin Kumar, who works at a private company in Industrial Area, Chandigarh.

All the three are in their late twenties and were staying in a paying guest house in Sector 28.

Station house officer of the Sector 26 police station Anokh Singh said the incident took place on Saturday night when accused and the victims consumed liquor at a tavern in Sector 28. After some time, they had come home, where they had argued over payment of bill.
