The directions came from the division bench comprising chief justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and justice Augustine George Masih on Friday.

During the hearing, the state government informed the court that the health department was likely to advertise 168 medical officers' posts, falling in direct recruitment quota, through a special scheduled caste (SC) drive to clear SC backlog. It was also submitted that on October 23, the health department had requested the government to send requisition for 23 posts of senior medical officers (direct quota) to Haryana Public Service Commission. The department has also requested to promote suitable medical officers on 56 promotional quota posts of senior medical officers.

The court was also informed that the Commission had recommended names of nine medical officers for the posts of senior medical officers who would soon be issued appointment letters.
