From far and beyond

As many as 21 artists from different states of the country have come together to portray the panoramic art scenes of their respective regions, through diverse mediums and styles in the ongoing painting exhibition — Now, Then and Beyond.

As many as 21 artists from different states of the country have come together to portray the panoramic art scenes of their respective regions, through diverse mediums and styles in the ongoing painting exhibition — Now, Then and Beyond.

“The mega travelling art show, put up under the aegis of Contemporary Delight, Jalandhar, is in its fourth edition, after repeat shows in Jalandhar and Jaipur,” says city-born-and-bred curator, Rozy Varinder Kaur, an alumnus of Government College of Arts, Sector 10, Chandigarh.

The exhibition features the works of Anirudh Pundkar (Akola), Isha Bawiskar (Katol), Choula Joshi (Ahmedabad), Shyamali Paul (West Bengal), Virender Rana (Haridwar), Ragini Sinha (Gurgaon), Girja Birader (Karnatka), Chaitnya Ingle, Manish Bobade and Mukesh Bakamwar from Maharashtra, Dr Jaspal Singh, Anil Gupta, Sukhwinder Singh, Gurdish S Pannu Basudev Biswas and Rozy Varinder Kaur from Jalandhar, Anita Jassiar, Neenu Vij, Rajender Kumar, Aradhan Tandon and Vishal Bhatnagar from the tricity. Most of their works are in acrylic on canvas with a few in mixed media and oil on canvas, with two compositions each in brass and black stone.

The exhibition is on from August 29 to September 2 at Art Gallery, Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, 11 am to 7 pm
