If you've watched Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur (GOW), which you should have by now, you'd know the pretty face that undoubtedly stood out amidst the dusty, rustic charm of Dhanbad - that of Huma Qureshi. We're sure a lot of you sat there imagining yourself instead of Nawazuddin Siddiqui (her love interest in GOW), waiting to take her 'permission'.

In case you haven't gotten around to watching it yet, you'd know her as the pretty face behind the aviators, in the pink salwar kameez.

The promos in themselves are enough to get everyone in B-town talking about her. Despite being a fresher, the upcoming diva has already bagged roles with industry biggies such as Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Anurag Kashyap, Manoj Bajpai, Emraan Hashmi and Kunal Kapoor. You'd think she's one of those lucky damsels, but she tells you otherwise. "I always wanted to be an actor, but the dream seemed a little too far fetched. Leave aside a godfather, I did not even have a distant cousin in the industry. I grew up in Delhi as a typical brat, moved to theatre in college and followed my passion by doing theatre professionally. I finally decided to go Mumbai in 2009. After having spent a good eight months at auditions and social events, I finally bagged my first TV ad with Abhishek Bachchan (for Idea Cellular). This was followed by another cell phone advertisement with Aamir Khan, which was directed by Anurag Kashyap. That's when he promised to cast me in a movie, hence, GOW."

About her upcoming project, she adds, "I'll also be seen opposite Emraan Hashmi in Ek Thi Daayan, which also stars Kalki Koechlin and Konkona Sen Sharma. I have also signed an untitled movie with director Nikhil Advani."
