The incident took place around 6:30pm and no case was registered as a compromise was reached between the two sides.

The girl has been identified as Neha Malik, a resident of Sector 38. According to information, Akash, a student of BA second-year and a resident of Morinda, had come to the carnival with his friend Sunny, a resident of SAS Nagar. They were standing in the parking area, where Neha along with a female and a male friend came in a Mercedes sports-utility vehicle. They had a confrontation over some issue and Neha, in a fit of rage, took out a gun from the car and pointed it at Akash.

Coming to the rescue of his friend, Sunny pushed Neha aside. The police were informed and they were rounded up.

On Friday, when Neha saw Akash, she told her friend, Surinder Singh, about the past incident. She then confronted Akash and they entered into a heated confrontation.

The car and the gun belong to Surinder Singh, a businessman. According to police, Surinder has a valid license for his .32bore pistol.

Akash did not lodge any complaint and the matter ended up in a compromise.

Station house officer of Sector 3 police station, inspector Sri Parkash said they investigated the case and after visiting the spot, police did not found any eyewitness who saw Neha pointing gun at Akash.
