Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has asked people to bring information about drug peddlers and addicts to the state police and claim cash reward.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, he assured informers that their identity would be kept confidential and they could win `10,000 cash for any authentic input about the drug peddlers or addicts. The police, he said, would receive this input on helpline number 181 and mobile number 7696-181-181 that was active even on WhatsApp.
Sukhbir said people's contribution in the war against drugs was important, and they should come out fearlessly against the drug dealers and consumers. On the WhatsApp-linked number, people could also upload the photographs, besides documentary and video evidence of drug dealing and other anti-social activities, he said.
