Glitches hit voting machines

While polling in Gurgaon remained relatively glitch-free, the electoral process was interrupted as electronic voting machines (EVMs) broke down at many places.

While polling in Gurgaon remained relatively glitch-free, the electoral process was interrupted as electronic voting machines (EVMs) broke down at many places.

The EVMs were found faulty or did not function properly in Kendriya Vihar, Suncity Township, Tigra village, South City, Sector 17, Bangrola, Wazirabad village and Badshahpur village.

The worst affected was Kendriya Vihar in Sector 57 where a machine was dysfunctional,halting the voting process for almost two hours.

It was restarted for 20 minutes before it started malfunctioning again for another half-an-hour.
“I was waiting to vote when the machine stopped working at 9am. I returned around 11am but the machine stopped again,” complained Omkar Kachru,RWA president ,sector 56.
