HC directs authorities to implement proposals to ease traffic at Gurgaon toll plaza

The Punjab and Haryana high court directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Gurgaon police and Delhi-Gurgaon expressway toll plaza concessionaire to implement decisions taken in a meeting convened on November 19 to improve traffic problem at Gurgaon (Sirhol) toll plaza.

The Punjab and Haryana high court directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Gurgaon police and Delhi-Gurgaon expressway toll plaza concessionaire to implement decisions taken in a meeting convened on November 19 to improve traffic problem at Gurgaon (Sirhol) toll plaza.

The division bench headed by justice SK Mittal during the resumed hearing of the case on Tuesday directed all the concerned parties in the case to inform the court on the next date of hearing about implementation of the decisions taken.

The deputy commissioner of police, Gurgaon, submitted before the court minutes of the meeting held between HUDA, NHAI, concessionaire and the Gurgaon traffic police on November 19.

The court was informed that during the meeting it was decided that since lot of inconvenience is being faced by public for purchase of tag cards/touch cards/smart cards for use at toll plaza, multiple points of sale of tag cards should be provided at different locations in Gurgaon and Delhi, and also wide publicity should be made by way of advertisements in media.

Full amount should be utilized like debit card and no cash shall be charged for new card, it was decided.
