The Himachal high court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the missing children since November 27, 2013 from City Public School Bhattakuffar, Sanjauli. The high court passed the orders in a petition filed by the parents of the missing children.

The petitioner had lodged an FIR in Dhalli police station on December 1, 2013. Since then, the police were investigating into the matter, but failed to trace the boys. The parents of the children approached the high court by filing the Criminal Writ petition on April 7, 2014. The court later had asked the police to file the status report on the matter.

On Wednesday during the hearing, the court observed that the matter was sensitive and required to be handed over to the CBI, because the status reports filed by the police from time to time are of no use.

The court directed the investigating officer to hand over the entire record to the superintendent of police, CBI, who is commanded to take all steps to trace out the missing children utilizing modern techniques. The court directed the CBI to file status report by or before July 14, 2014.
