Himachal Kisan Sabha (HKS) on Sunday alleged that residents of Ladbharol sub tehsil of Jogindernagar are left with no option but to visit private hospitals for treatment as there are no doctors at the government-run health centres.
In a press release, HKS particularly pointed out a health cenre (PHC) of Pandol, which it said has been running without doctors despite the area being prone to water-borne illnesses. It also said the state government had upgraded the primary health centre at Ladbharol to a community health centre "but on papers only". The HKS alleged the government "forgot to appoint doctors and other medical staffers."
"A CHC is required to have eight doctors, but that's not the case and only one or two doctors come here," it said. "The government is cheating poor people by making false announcements," HKS said and demanded appointment of doctors at the health centres.
