Making it amply clear that the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) was getting sour with every passing day, the BJP state president Ram Bilas Sharma, for the first time, opted to remain mum on the issue here on Friday.
Avoiding a volley of questions pertaining to the alliance, Sharma told newspersons that the state party leaders had informed the BJP central parliamentary committee about their mind and it was up to the committee to decide the fate of the alliance. He flatly also refused to speak on the state leaders’ mind on the issue. The central committee is scheduled to take a decision in this context in a day or two, he added.
Till this day, Sharma was probably only one in the party who parroted that the BJP-HJC alliance was rock solid, while most of BJP leaders including the party leader in the Vidhan Sabha Anil Vij had repeatedly said that the alliance needed to be reviewed as HJC had lost both its Lok Sabha seats while BJP had won seven of the eight it fought.
The BJP leaders refused to go by the pre-poll arrangements as per which the assembly elections were to be fought under HJC leader Kuldeep Bishnoi and both parties to fight on 45 seats. In case of victory, Bishnoi and someone from the BJP would share the chief ministerial term for two and half years each.

{{/usCountry}}Sharma, who was accompanied by Vij, Ambala MP Ratan Lal Kataria, besides others, also said that the party had started preparations for the ensuing assembly election for which the BJP chief ministers and ministers would also be visiting all the 90 assembly seats in Haryana.
CONG, INLD MEN JOIN BJP
Meanwhile, Bharat Singh Chhokar, former Congress MLA, Neelam, the daughter of former Congress MLA Shakuntala Bhagwadia, former IAS officer Rajiv Sharma and Randhir Singh Saini, brother of a former INLD MLA, besides Sudhir Godara, the grandson of former Congress minister Maniram Godara, joined BJP on the occasion.
