Chief Administrator, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), AK Singh, de-sealed the 5 Degrees restaurant running illegally from Nirjhar Vatika, Sector 5 which came into limelight after a firing accident on New Year's eve at the restaurant.
It was sealed on January 10, after head constable Jaipal Singh, deployed in security of son of Punjab IAS officer KBS Sidhu, had accidentally shot himself with his service gun while coming out of a New Year Eve party.
HUDA then got inspected the file and found that 5 Degrees had won the bid but no formal agreement had been signed yet. Estate Officer, HUDA, Vandana Disodia, had issued a notice to restaurant on January 6 and restrained them from carrying out further operations.
Disodia in her order on January 10 had pointed out that the licensee had taken possession of cafetaria on December 24, 2013, without execution of agreement. She also accused the M/s Hot Beans for carrying out alteration work. The order had said that licencee had admitted that the POP work, ceiling work or portion of brick wall, glass work were part of the renovations.
Now, on the appeal of the licencee, chief administrator,HUDA, de-sealed the premises on Monday. "A committee under superintending engineer NK Verma, executive engineer BS Cheema and myself, has been formed to submit a report on alterations being made at the premises," said MP Sharma, sub divisional officer (survey). He clarified that no permission for running the restaurant had been given.
