Head of ad hoc Haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC) Jagdish Singh Jhinda told HT on Tuesday evening that he was busy making arrangements for Sikh convention slated for July 6 at Kaithal and would be unavailable for tomorrow’s meeting.

While Jhinda’s rival-turnedfriend Didar Singh Nalvi couldn’t be contacted for a comment, the rebel SGPC member from Karnal, Bhupinder Singh Assandh, denied having received an invite from the Akal Takht.

Jhinda said he would a send a message to the Akal Takht to postpone the meeting. “I got a message at around 10pm on Monday to discuss “panthic vichar” and it is not possible for me to attend the meeting at such a short notice. I know that the jathedar wants to discuss demand for HSGPC, but I will request him that the meeting be fixed after July 6,” said Jhinda.

Jhinda clarified that there was noquestion of compromising anything less than an independent gurdwara panel for Haryana.

SGPC member from Karnal, Assandh, who has revolted against Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), said that meeting with the Akal Thakt jathedar would not resolve the issue.
