His fresh posting orders will be issued later. Rohtak divisional commissioner Rajeev Ranjan will take the additional charge of Gurgaon on Monday itself. Sources said that Kasni had been shunted out for working out wrong compensation for a land that was once being acquired for Manesar Bawal Investment Region (MBIR).

Rewari deputy commissioner RC Verma and subdivisional magistrate (SDM) Ravinder Yadav are also being shifted, the source has said. The compensation worked out under Kasni's guidance would have caused the government a huge loss if it had gone ahead with the acquisition. The compensation had been calculated in complete violation of the rules, and chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and industries minister Captain Abhimanyu were annoyed about it, said officials.

After detailed discussions with the land owners and area representatives, the committee recommended that the option of acquiring less fertile land at other places along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor could be explored.
