The Swacch Bharat Abhiyan seems to have made no impact in parts of the residential areas of Sunny Enclave and Gillco Valley in Kharar, which continue to languish in a state of filth.

The green belts in these residential areas contain heaps of garbage dumped by residents and MC workers.

Residents have also turned open spaces into dumping grounds.

Public toilets in Sunny Enclave and Gillco Valley are in a pitiable condition too.Several empty packets of sedatives have been dumped inside the toilets constructed in the market near the ‘gurudwara’.

The MC has failed to place dustbins in many of these toilets.

Fortunately, some of the parks of the Sunny Enclave, located near the Chandigarh Highway, have been maintained well by the residents.

However, heaps of garbage is visible on the other side of the parks.A resident of Sunny Enclave, on condition of anonymity, said neither the builder nor the civic body took responsibility for ensuring the cleanliness in the area.

Parts of the Gillco Valley, however, are maintained well.

A visit to the Valley reveals that the builder has appointed 30 sweepers to clean the area and the houses of the residents every day.

Surprisingly, the roads in the Valley are well maintained when compared to other residential areas in Kharar.
