Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had a breakfast meeting at his residence with his Punjab counterpart Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday and discussed issues pertaining to the neighbouring states.

Officials said Khattar and his cabinet colleagues gave a warm welcome to Badal who inspected the guard of honour and also took a salute from the contingent of Haryana Armed Police on the occasion.

Besides agriculture and damage caused by whitefly to the cotton crop, the two also discussed issues pertaining to the area around the Chandigarh international airport and agreed to widen the Ambala-Banur road for better connectivity to the airport terminal.

Both the chief ministers also agreed for the construction of an underpass to link the old terminal with the new for easier access to Chandigarh and Panchkula.

Khattar also stressed the need to promote tourism in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal, saying this would help developing a tourism circuit from Kurukshetra to Amritsar that would also extend up to Himachal to attract both Indian and foreign tourists.
