Kullu municipal council chairman Rishabh Kaliya smells a rat in the council functioning, where payment worth lakhs was made to a company allegedly without approval of the House.

Kaliya alleged a few people seem to be involved in the scam, wherein they deputed a Chandigarh-based company for garbage collection in the town, which failed to deliver services effectively.

He alleged that "an amount of `6 lakh was paid to the company from the MC exchequer without permission of the House, which revealed direct involvement of MC executive officer in this scam".

Kaliya submitted a written complaint to the additional director general of police, vigilance wing, Shimla, in this connection and sought a thorough inquiry into it.
