In a statement, Majithia said Amarinder and Manpreet often changed their stand and principles for political survival.

He stated that Amarinder and Manpreet were like "brides desperately in search of grooms."

"Finally, Manpreet and Amarinder have realised that to ensure their political survival, they have to support each other. They are both willing to do anything and embrace anyone," Majithia said.

"Amarinder used to call Manpreet a 'summer storm' a few months ago, but now the scenario has changed," said Majithia, adding that the eagerness for an alliance shown by the duo clearly showed that both were not getting any support from the people of Punjab.

"It is ironical that just before the assembly elections, both leaders were spitting venom and even refused to acknowledge each other. They even talked about forming the government on their own. Now, feeling the ground shift under their feet, they are ready to embrace each other," the Akali leader quipped.
