Maluka hold's meeting to improve education dept

A high level meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka, where a comprehensive plan to further upgrade the infrastructure and quality of education in state government schools was chalked out, here on Saturday.

A high level meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka, where a comprehensive plan to further upgrade the infrastructure and quality of education in state government schools was chalked out, here on Saturday.

An official spokesperson said, "District education officers of various districts were present in the meeting." The minister invited suggestions from officers to increase the quality of education. Participating in the discussion, District Educational Office (DEOs) put several recommendations forward and apprised the minister about the hurdles and bottlenecks being faced by them. There will not be any scarcity of infrastructure, education material and teachers in any schools, assured Maluka.

The issue of merger of primary schools was also discussed in the meeting. Maluka instructed the officers to take every aspect into consideration, besides visualising the hurdles and efforts for reaching a consensus before taking such decisions. He also instructed the officers that the teachers be transferred according to the transfer policy in a transparent manner.

Principal secretary school education Anjali Bhawara, additional secretary Gurdeep Singh, DPI (secondary) Kamal Garg, additional state project director Parmpal Kaur, DPI (elementary) Darshan Kaur, Nabha circle education officer and DEO's were present, amongst others.
