The incident occurred in the afternoon when the chief minister was speaking at a ceremony organised to lay the foundation stone of a railway over-bridge. Raja Ram Kasnai, a resident of Nathusari village in Sirsa, who was sitting behind the media gallery, suddenly stood up and hurled his shoe at the stage, while raising anti-Hooda slogans.

Before he could hurl the other, he, however, was overpowered by the police. Sources said that Raja Ram was pretending to be a Congress worker. He was detained for questioning.

Reacting to the incident, Hooda called it a "black spot".
This is the second such attack on the chief minister in this month. On February 2, a 22-year-old man had slapped the CM during a road show in Panipat.
