Markfed to sell cattle feed in Himachal

Punjab Markfed signed an agreement on Tuesday with Himachal's Himfed for supplying its cattle feed to the hill state. In this connection, Dr Karmjeet Singh Sra, managing director of Markfed, and KC Chaman, managing director, Himfed, signed an agreement on Tuesday here.

After this agreement, the cattle feed manufactured by the Markfed will be made available to farmers of Himachal through the outlets of cooperative societies. The MDs of Markfed and Himfed also deliberated on the marketing of other edible products of Markfed in Himachal.

Markfed started manufacturing cattle feed to meet the requirement of dairy farmers in Punjab by installing a cattle feed plant at Kapurthala in 1975 and later at Gidderbaha in 1985.
