Taking a dig at prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi in her rally maiden rally in Chandigarh in this elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati invoked Godhra riots and said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should be stopped from forming a government at the centre.

Addressing a rally at sector-25 ground in the city, Mayawati said that Godhra (massacre) had happened, when Narendra Modi was chief minister of Gujarat, if due to some circumstances, he became the prime minister, there was possibility of communal tension in the country.

The BSP Supremo also accused BJP of befooling in their poll promises and said that Narendra Modi says in his rallies that all problems would be solved, if he becomes prime minister. "I want to caution you. Even 50 percent of poll promises are not kept by these parties," she said while justifying that BSP did not believe in poll manifestoes, rather preferred to work on the ground.

She also hit out at Congress Party for making lofty promises in its manifesto and said that though the party had not named its prime ministerial candidate Congress's Yuvraj (Rahul Gandhi) also wanted to be prime minister and his ambitions should be scuttled.

Though she did not directly mention about Congress pushing for Jat reservation, but said that some forces were trying to make laws to eat into the reservation being provided to scheduled caste communities since independence and said that some more castes were also being added in reservation category so that SCs could not get benefits out of the quota given to them.

Reaching out to voters from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh the BSP supremo said that those migrant labourers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh lived in poor conditions in other cities and were getting step motherly treatment there.

"Those from UP and Bihar who venture out of state for work and people from minority communities like Muslims and scheduled castes get raw deal from local MP and were living in a deplorable condition in Chandigarh and other places as well," she said.

She accused policies of Congress as well as BJP government for inflation and woes of common man as well as traders and businessmen and said that poor as well as people of scheduled caste communities were worst affected.
