The Flying Sikh's story has finally hit the big screen, and the audience just can't get enough of it.
Even as 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' - based on legendary athlete Milkha Singh's life, the first biopic of a living sportsperson in India - hits theatres formally on Friday, it created a wave on the release eve with 18 post-afternoon 'paid preview' shows thrown open.
For the week, no less than 75 shows are available, according to ticket-booking websites. These shows are at multiplexes such as DT Mall, PVR Centra, PVR Elante, Wave, Piccadilly Square, Fun Cinemas, Fame, and Big Cinemas at Paras Down Town Square.
The cast of the film including lead actor Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Yograj Singh and Japtej Singh (who plays junior Milkha), director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and writer Prasoon Joshi were joined by Milkha Singh himself as they interacted with the media at a city hotel, and later went for a special screening for Milkha's family at Elante.

City-based distributor of the film, Raj Juneja, talked to HT even as he was sitting in one of the screenings: "People are elated to have got the opportunity to finally watch the movie; not to mention, before everyone else. I foresee quite a mad rush for tickets."
