A local court has ordered the warrant of apprehension against the a juvenile rape accused since he has refused to do the community service at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) for two years as directed by the Juvenile Justice Board on September 18.
Medical superintendent of PGI on Wednesday submitted a written statement of the juvenile, wherein he refused to serve his sentence of community service.
The accused juvenile had been directed to perform community service for three hours (3pm to 6pm) daily for the next two years from September 21 onwards.
On the very first day, he refused to perform the community service, following which he was asked to submit a written statement by the medical superintendent of the PGI.
His statement was finally submitted in the court on Wednesday, following which the court issued the warrant of apprehension and directed the police to present him in the court on October 5.
The victim, who resides in a hutment with her family in Khuda Lahora, was only 13 and a student of Class 6 when she was allegedly sexually assaulted..
The accused, along with one Chanchal of Khuda Lahora, was booked on August 18 in 2012. Chanchal was acquitted due to lack of evidence against her. Chanchal was facing charges of conspiring against the victim and facilitating the accused in the crime, which couldn’t be proved.

According to the police, Chanchal, who was the neighbour of the victim, called the victim to her hutment on some pretext, where the accused juvenile was already present. Chanchal allegedly went out of the room and locked the door from outside, following which the juvenile raped her. The victim, however, did not reveal the incident to her family for over a month until her mother suspected something wrong with her.
On enquiring from her daughter, victim’s mother came to know about the incident after which her husband, a vegetable vendor, lodged a police complaint. After the medical examination of the vicitm, the police booked the accused.
