Though the restriction will not apply to non- officials enjoying Z and Z plus security cover, they will not be allowed to conduct any political activity such as holding press conferences, party workers’ meeting, casual discussions with political workers etc in these rooms.

The order issued by the PWD (B&R) department said that even among those with Z and Z plus security, it should be ensured that non-officials from one political party do not occupy a room for more than 48 hours continuously.

“Any violation of these directions will invite initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the officers and criminal proceedings against the non-officials,” said order communicated to all deputy commissioners.
