While disposing of a complaint filed by Pushpinder Kaur of Phase 3B2, SAS Nagar, the district consumer disputes redressal forum, SAS Nagar, also directed Bright Dry Cleaners, Phase 5, to pay ` 4,000 as cost of the shawl.

Pushpinder had moved the forum against Ranvir Singh Dhillon and Gurleen Singh Dhillon alias Ammu, who run Bright Dry Cleaners, accusing them of deficiency in services for misplacing her shawl.
She said on March 12, 2013, she gave two women suits, a coat and a shawl to Bright Dry Cleaners for dry cleaning and was assured delivery on March 16, 2013. Despite repeated visits, the dry cleaner failed to hand over the shawl on one pretext or the other.

Denying any deficiency in service, Bright Dry Cleaners accused Pushpinder of filing the complaint with an ulterior motive. They said the shawl was already handed over to her. The dry cleaner said it was the duty of the complainant to check her articles before taking the delivery and leaving the shop which she failed and cannot concoct a story of wrong delivery of her articles.
