While interacting with Amarinder, morning walkers apprised him of the problems faced by them. The people who met Amarinder included doctors, teachers, lawyers, industrialists, traders, students, sportspersons and children. A group of sweepers also met him and assured him of their support.

Some of the government employees apprised him that they had not been paid their salaries for the past three months. An industrialist, who met Capt, said that a significant number of industries had downed shutters. They said the government did not have any industrial policy resulting in the shutdown.

The traders and general public complained about heavy taxes imposed by the Akali-BJP government.

Capt Amarinder invited all these sections of people for a meeting, stating that he already had a broader idea of the issues brought to his notice, but he would like to learn about these in detail from them. “I shall be meeting each group separately in the coming days to find out what can be done,” Capt said.

He added that it was a great experience as the encounters with people were straight and spontaneous.

Capt further said there was a lot of disillusionment and sense of alienation among the people against the Akali-BJP government. “This is the opinion of the common and neutral folks,” he said.
