New houses allotted to 1,181 persons
Urban local bodies minister Savitri Jindal on Thursday distributed house certificates to nearly 1,181 persons below the poverty line under the Rajiv Awas Yojana scheme at CMK National PG Girls College, Sirsa. While addressing people at the college, Jindal lauded the UPA government for implementing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in the state.
Praising the Hooda-led government, Jindal said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had dreamt of providing a house to every person in the country, which had been realised in Haryana due to the efforts of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state Congress president Ashok Tanwar.
She said that Haryana had tremendously developed in the last 10 years and Sirsa had become a developed city.
She added that the Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojna scheme had been launched in the state to address the problem of increasing number of slums in the state. Under this scheme, the government would provide residential, social and commercial arrangements for the poor, she said.
The minister also flagged off a mobile ambulance launched by the department of animal husbandry and dairy.
