The Chandigarh police on Tuesday nabbed a Nigerian national with 19 grams of cocaine. The police claimed that the cocaine was worth Rs 38 lakh in international market.
Daniel Ebera was caught from near Inter-State Bus Terminus in Sector 17. Police sources said the Nigerian was passing through the inner gate holding a polythene bag in his hand. On spotting the police, they claimed, he tried to hide the bag.
The police officials got suspicious and rounded him up for verification. Inspector Ranjit Singh Dhillon, the head of the PCR special technical operation cell team, said Ebera was currently putting up at Noida (Uttar Pradesh).
He said the police were questioning the Nigerian about the source of the cocaine. They are also trying to find out what brought the Nigerian to the city, and where was he operating from.
The officer informed that the Nigerian told them that he had been getting the contraband from Delhi. He said the Nigerian was expected to reveal more details about the supply of drugs.
A case under section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered in the Sector 17 police station.
Meanwhile, the special cell also nabbed Sonu, a Deep Complex resident, and recovered a Hero Honda Motorcycle (DL7AQ-1767), which was allegedly stolen from Sector 36 police station area.
The police also recovered a stolen gas cylinder from his possession.

{{/usCountry}}The deputy superintendent of police (DSP), PCR, Roshan Lal said,"The special cell was constituted under the supervision of SSP Naunihal Singh. Efforts are being made to make recoveries and nab outlaws indulging in illegal activities."
