North West Frontier ITBP celebrates raising day

North West Frontier (NWF) Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Chandigarh, celebrated its eighth raising day here on Thursday.

North West Frontier (NWF) Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Chandigarh, celebrated its eighth raising day here on Thursday.

NWF inspector general (IG) Arvind Kumar was the chief guest at the occasion.

The NWF was raised on February 20, 2007, and presently has three sector headquarters and 13 units in Ladakh, Kashmir, Jammu, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh (HP) regions which are deployed under administrative and operational control of NWF for carrying out internal security duty and guarding the Sino-India border.

As many as eight officers, 17 subordinate officers and 19 other ranks of different formations of NWF, who have been conferred with DG's commendation letter and insignia for their outstanding contribution in different fields during 2013, were also honoured.

Arvind said, "We all have to be more vigilant towards our duties and always endeavour to accomplish it with true devotion and dedication in order to meet any possibility."
