Notify Jeetmohinder resignation as MLA: Cong

Punjab Congress vice-president Charanjit Singh Channi has filed a complaint with the Vidhan Sabha speaker to ask for notification of the resignation of defector Jeetmohinder Singh Sidhu as legislator in the gazette and the copy forwarded to the Election Commission (EC).

He wants the EC given copy to enable it to take appropriate steps to fill the vacancy. “Neither Sidhu’s resignation is notified in the gazette nor its copy sent to the EC for further necessary action, as required by law,” said Channi on Thursday, issuing a statement here and releasing his communiqué to the speaker.
