Incharge of RLA Kashish Mittal said, “On Friday, the department linked all its information with the ‘Smart City’ app.”

The official said the app was intended to create awareness of consumer rights and responsibilities and provide all types of citizen-centric and public utility services and information to the residents.

“Though we would be launching our own separate app soon but for now we have linked our information on the same app of the Chandigarh administration,” said Mittal.

The key features that have been included in the app such as vehicle registration option that will enable people to know about how they can get registration certificate; process of getting driving licence; high security registration plate (HSRP); road signs and safety measures and mock learner’s licence test.

The links related to mock test (comprising questions on traffic rules), driving licence test results, available vehicle numbers and others details have also been included.

Mittal added all the residents might not find the website convenient but through the mobile app, they could easily access all the information.

“Most of the links and information is already available for public on our recently-launched website but people will be more comfortable to use this app,” he added.
