It has been found that a sizeable number of plot holders of focal points have installed telecommunication towers, allied equipment and exchange without obtaining prior permission from the PSIEC, a government spokesperson said.

Now, the department of industries and commerce has approved the policy guidelines and fee with regard to the installation of telecommunication towers, allied equipment and exchange in industrial plots, sheds, and commercial/institution sites allotted by the PSIEC in focal points across the state.

The roof tower/high-rise towers, allied equipment and exchange will be regularised by the authorities concerned after charging Rs 1 lakh per tower from plot holders. The permission will be granted for one year initially. It will be renewed by charging Rs 50,000 per year.
