Back to his hometown after almost a year to celebrate Diwali with his family, the 26-year-old actor says he is satisfied with the way his career has shaped up. “I am getting a lot of e-mails and Facebook messages from NRIs appreciating my role in Bani — Ishq Da Kalma. The serial addresses a very rampant social evil wherein Punjabi brides get duped and abandoned by their NRIs husbands,” says Adhvik.

Before being seen as Soham, Adhvik had already appeared as the lead in Contract, a Hindi film directed by Ram Gopal Varma. He has also done numerous South Indian movies. “I got to act in a Telugu movie called Oosaravelli that crossed the 100 crore mark,” he tells us with pride. Adhvik’s passion for acting started when he was in college, he tells us.

However, Adhvik does believe that an actor gets to improvise when working on TV vis-à-vis films. “As an actor on TV, you get to improve yourself every day as you watch your performance daily, whereas in films, you have to wait till your next project,” he explains. Adhvik is now set to work in Punjabi films. “I am getting offers but I am waiting for a project that I can differentiate from my previous performances. It should be different from the run-of the-mill stuff,” he signs off.
