Dozens of leaders gathered at Chautala village here to attend late, former MLA Pratap Singh Chautala’s funeral on Monday. Om Parkash Chautala, former chief minister and elder brother of Pratap, and MLA from Ellenabad, Abhay Singh Chautala, were among those present.

Om Prakash Chautala, who, along with his son Ajay Chautala, was convicted in the teachers’ recruitment scam, came from Tihar Jailon a five-hour parole to attend the funeral.
Pratap Singh Chautala passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness. The funeral pyre was lit by Chautala’s elder son Jitender at noon, amidst the chanting of vedic shlokas. Earlier, thousands paid their last respects.
