Pb: Charges reduced for online citizen services

The Punjab government has curtailed facilitation charges for services notified under the Right To Service (RTS) Act.

The Punjab government has curtailed facilitation charges for services notified under the Right To Service (RTS) Act.

No facilitation charges would be charged online as well as across the counter for all government-sponsored services, a spokesman said here on Thursday. The charges for services such as issuance of caste certificate, birth and death certificate, rural area certificate and residence certificate have been reduced from Rs 50 to Rs 40.

The charges for issuance of marriage ability certificate has been reduced to Rs 765 from Rs 830, for solemnisation of marriage to Rs 910 from Rs 1,160, for registration of marriage to Rs 950 from Rs 1,250, and for issuance of arms licence to Rs 1,325 against Rs 1,950 at the counter.

Government-sponsored services such as financial assistance to disabled persons and dependent children, old-age pension, financial assistance to widows and destitute women, national family benefit scheme, senior citizen ID card, application for term loan to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC), SC/BC post-matric scholarship, financial assistance under the shagun scheme, issuance of disability certificate and job card under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) Act, Right To Information Act, and the grievance redressal system could be attained free of cost at the counter and online.
