He is currently seen as the calm and intelligent lord Krishna on TV serial Mahabharat that is being aired on Star Plus. A practicing Buddhist who comes from a family with faith in different religious beliefs, actor Saurabh Jain believes god is everywhere. Is he more spiritual or religious? "Isn't spirituality the new thing kids say these days?" he asks laughingly, adding, "I believe that god exists everywhere and for everyone."

Does he feel like a god when playing the role of Krishna? "These days, I am so focused on my role that I talk like Krishna in real life too," he says, adding that it has been interesting to play Krishna for he is a very human-like deity. Previously, Saurabh has also played lord Vishnu.

With a Punjabi mother, a Jain father and a sister who believes in Buddhism, Saurabh comes from a multi-religious household. "My sister used to chant this mantra and it struck a chord in me; I was attracted towards it before I even knew what it meant," he says.

Having appeared in over 10 TV shows so far, Saurabh, who currently also plays an arrogant young man on the TV serial Uttaran, says he chose to be an actor for the variety of characters that one gets to portray. "The contrasting images that I have to pull off are certainly very challenging, but this variety is what keeps things fun and interesting for me," says he.
