However, the HERC effected an increase in the tariff for nondomestic and industry category of consumers.

Hooda had announced a double relief before the Lok Sabha polls no tariff hike for the 2014-15 fiscal and a rollback of the current (2013-14) tariff for domestic consumers.

The move was heavily influenced by the emergence of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Haryana’s political horizon during that period.

The state goes to the polls later this year.

For the non-domestic category, those consuming above 20 kW and up to 50 kW (650kWh) and existing consumers using above 50 kW up to 70 kW (675 kWh) besides consumers of above 50 kW (HT), the hike is of 50 paise.

However, for up to 5 kW non-domestic consumers and above 5 kW and up to 20 kW, there is no tariff hike.

Likewise, for the (LT) industries categories (upto 50 kW), the hike is of 50 paise.

Also, as promised by Hooda, the tariff for the agriculture tubewell supply was lowered. For the consumers using tubewell metered supply with motor up to 15 BHP, the tariff was lowered by 15 piase and the ones using tubewell with motor above 15 BHP, the tariff was lowered by 12 paise.
