According to a government spokesperson, SAS Nagar (Mohali) would be the first district to implement this project by October.

Under this project, the buyer would send e-mail to the portal of the Punjab Land Record Society, requesting for registration, and would be allotted a password through e-mail.

After this, the person would fill the details of the property on the browser of the portal and himself type the text for registration of document. The computer software itself will calculate the stamp duty and the person will mention the challan number of deposit of stamp duty in the browser.

Sukhbir said that after the submission of the document through e-mail, the registration authority would check the document, accept it or reject it and give a printout of the registration to the buyer after depositing the registration fee.

The deputy chief minister said that by next year, the revenue department should extend this project to all the districts.
